BetterLesson is a social network for teachers looking to transform the way teachers connect, communicate, and collaborate.  We are backed by San Francisco-based NewSchools Venture Fund and have been recently featured in MA High Tech, Cnet, DigitalJournal, and Scholastic.com

Additionally, having recently acquired a large, well known customer,  we are looking to expand our team.

Senior Web Developer / Engineer

Our site is growing quickly, and with it, many new features are on the way. We need some one like you to bring us to the next level of usability and scalibility.

About you:

• 5+ years coding web applications with scripting languages
• some PHP experience - MVC
• Linux system administration
• MySQL
• Javascript and AJAX (jQuery preferred)
• subversion
• tremendous communication skills
• immense documentation skills (Specs, Wireframes, Comps, Diagramming)
• ability to self motivate and self manage while playing on a team
• imagination

Other nice-to-haves:

• a CS or related degree
• experience at a tech startup
• a sense of humor and focus under pressure
• willingness to participate in many roles beyond coding

Senior Web Developer / Designer

About you:

• excellent CSS/HTML skills (semantic HTML, grid based layouts, SASS )
• stupendous Javascript skills (jQuery preferred)
• some PHP
• Photoshop/Fireworks/In-Design
• tremendous communication skills
• immense documentation skills 
• ability to self motivate and self manage while playing on a team
• imagination

Other nice-to-haves:

• a CS, UX, MultiMedia and/or Design degree
• Balsamiq/Omnigraffle/Visio/ etc
